Reviews for the 1st Edition:
“Fantastic book. I enjoy the recipes and find myself talking about this book to my friends all the time. Easy to read and understand.”
“Simple strategies to invest in your health by eating better. I’m not comfortable in the kitchen and love the simple to follow recipes.”
“This book provides a great balance between the technical background information, easy to navigate “how to” checklists and suggested recipes to start out with. Additionally, I was amazed by Maggie Moon’s immediate response to a follow up question I had that I posted to her website. You can tell she cares about the topic and is interested in making people successful in following the MIND diet. This is a very easy program to follow and you are encouraged to keep following it even if you miss a few foods as every bit helps. With grandparents who suffered from dementia, this is a very important recommendation to reduce my risk of getting dementia as well. Thank you, Maggie!”
“The MIND Diet is a well-written, thorough book that I find has many useful foods to help foster brain function. If you’re looking for a book to help give you some insight on how to prevent cognitive decline, this is a good book to start with. The internet can only tell you so much about the relationship between food and one’s mind. I find this book to provide good authority on the subject and provide actionable options for fostering one’s brain function to stave off dementia and the like. We can’t stop getting older, but what we can try stop is losing one’s mind.”
“As my parents get older, I become more and more aware of their health- including their mental health! The possibility of dementia is always with us as we age, and this book helps us eat food that will hopefully lessen the possibility. These recipes are designed to improve memory and mental acuity. The author is registered nutritionist and knows what she is talking about. The “brain food” in this book is not only healthy, but also delicious! These recipes are detailed and easy to follow. There are even relatively healthy desserts! I am a big fan of this cookbook and have been enjoying it very much. My parents have been loving it too. Highly recommended!

Telomere diet and cookbook
How what you eat can add life to your years!
HOW WHAT YOU EAT CAN LEAD TO A LONGER, HAPPIER LIFE While some enjoy extremely active and healthy lives as they age, others spend years of their life burdened by heart disease, dementia, and other age-related diseases. Until recently, this was often chalked up to luck or “good genes.” But fascinating new research has emerged since the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine was awarded to a team of scientists for uncovering how telomeres protect chromosomes. It suggests that telomeres are directly linked to aging. Telomeres, when protected, can lead to a longer, happier life.
Fortunately, one of the key components to protecting your telomeres is a balanced diet. The Telomere Diet and Cookbook is the first book to offer an easy-to-read, targeted overview of telomeres and nutrition. Including detailed meal plans and shopping lists, this book offers a simple step-by-step starter program and more than 75 delicious recipes.
“This book is for people who are interested in natural ways to age successfully through healthy lifestyle choices,” says the author, Maggie Moon, MS, RD. “It’s never too early – or too late – to age successfully. After all, healthy aging is a lifelong process.”
The Telomere Diet and Cookbook is a practical, evidence-based guide to living more years in good health, by way of the kitchen. This book explains the best available science on the intersection of telomeres and how the way we eat, sleep, respond to stress, and interact with others may impact how we age. Everyday habits can accelerate or slow down aging.
The result is a plant-based, but not plant-exclusive, eating pattern based on a variety of wholesome foods such as vegetables, fruit, nuts, beans, seafood, whole grains, tea, and more.
Most importantly, this book provides practical tips and tools to apply the research findings to everyday life. Readers can expect meal plans and shopping lists, including when it’s OK to seek out supplements, as well as specific guidance on exercise, stress reduction, and healthy sleep. The book is organized so that a reader may skip right to the action plan, but also makes it easy to find the science.
All the great-tasting, inflammation-busting, antioxidant-rich recipes one needs to get started are included. The book features recipes for breakfasts, entrées, snacks, sides, desserts, and drinks including familiar comfort foods as well as dishes inspired by global cuisines and healthy eating trends for modern variety. Thankfully, on-trend does not mean fussy: the recipes have the home cook in mind and are designed to maximize flavor and minimize effort.
“Aging successfully is a privilege, but it shouldn’t be,” says Moon. “Everyone should have access to the know-how and skills for a long healthspan. I’m proud to share ways that everyday activities like eating, sleeping, exercising and being kind to yourself and others can help.”
Packed with recipes that maximize the latest Telomere research, dishes include:
• Mason Jar Overnight Oats
• Berry Zinger Smoothie Bowl
• Butternut Squash and Ginger Soup
• Turkey Stuffed Bell Peppers
• Sheet Pan Salmon

In this book, I especially love the ‘Four-Week Jump-Start Telomere Health Plan’ (Ch 4) because it helps put the science into an actionable plan that I can start following right away. The elimination diet workbook:
a personal approach to determining your food allergies
A HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PROGRAM FOR GETTING TO THE BOTTOM OF YOUR FOOD ALLERGIES AND DIGESTIVE ILLNESSES
Mysterious allergies and digestion problems plague millions of people, but doctors can do little to help since many allergies are undetectable and overlapping symptoms often make it difficult to come up with a diagnosis. The Elimination Diet Workbook offers the only trusted, natural method for getting to the root of your own ailments and eliminating them for good.
While an elimination diet is unquestionably the most effective method for identifying food allergies and sensitivities, those who want to try it are often plagued by a barrage of conflicting reports on the proper way. This comprehensive handbook cuts through all the misinformation to give you the facts you need and a diet plan you can trust.
A thoroughly detailed guide to the diet itself, The Elimination Diet Workbook is also a primer on common allergies, inflammation, and digestive disorders and the foods that trigger each condition. Once you have started the diet, you can log your experiences in the journal section, creating an invaluable record of reactions and their triggers that you can bring to a physician for a more thorough and accurate diagnosis.

Reviews:
“Since finishing this book, I’ve learned a TON and discovered I have either an intolerance or allergy to three of the top eight food allergens. I have changed the way I eat completely and any symptoms I’ve ever had have disappeared… as well as some of my health issues! I can feel my body operating a lot more efficiently, I’ve lost weight, and overall, I feel like an entirely new person. I have never felt this good in my life. Thank you so much to Maggie Moon for helping me finally find answers and get my life back.”
“I really like the guidance provided in this workbook. There are a lot of elimination diets out there, but this book seemed to me to have the ease of use that I needed.”
“The particular plan that my doctor recommended is essentially a variant of Moon’s “catchall diet,” so her suggestions and worksheets are spot-on and quite helpful. For me, the strength of the book is in its nutritional advice, especially the “alternative nutritional sources” and “substitutions” tables, the “label smarts” and ingredient lists, and pretty much everything else in Part Four.”
